CORFU SIGHTSEEING

Our world tour, into this travel blog, it couldn’t start in a better way than this one ! The Amazing Corfu and it’s beautiful sightseeing, is the place I born and I still live here. I present an 8 minute video with the best sightseeing of my island Corfu, including the islands of Paxos & Antipaxos.

This video was made by myself, using my own equipment, drone, camera etc, and it took 3 years to complete it. Moreover, you can watch on it how Corfu citizens celebrate the Easter. A litany of Saint Spyridonas, the event of “Botides” that takes place on the first resurrection in the morning of the Holy Saturday and the firecrackers after the resurrection in Spianada square !

zones than to break out and travel.

CORFU OLD TOWN

We quote some words about the old city of Corfu and some of it’s sightseeings ! You can find more about the Ionian island, by searching other articles on our website. Walking streets, called Kantounia, beautiful old houses and architectural monuments, churches and the particular atmosphere : Old city of Corfu, is a sightseeing, that tourists do not stop to admire. Fortress, palace, Spianada and Liston square, the church of Saint Spyridonas and Metropolis of Corfu, are some of the best points of interest by visiting this island ! The old city, has been characterized as a world cultural heritage of UNESCO, from 2007 until now! 

Ιn the alleyways of the old city, named “Kantounia”, which look like an incredible maze that you probably will get lost easily, you will find one more old building of Corfu, in the address of Phillelinon 18. It has been built in 1497, and it is rumored that the balcony looks like as Julietta’s, that Romeo climbed on it.

The Venetian and Medieval architecture of the old city, creates a beautiful environment, and you can see more, Kremasti’s square with the artistic stone well, the church of Saint Spyridonas, in which you can see  the “body” of the Saint, the building of Ionian bank (built in 1846) and the City Hall which is an architectural monument.
